She's Beautiful

Sophia Grace Leela Ninan showed up yesterday morning at 8:30 A.M.

She weighed 6 lbs. 6 oz, - about 2 lbs. lighter then her older brother when he made his debut.

And..... she's beautiful.

Felicia had a C-section that went very well - Sophia came out, and was totally healthy.

An added bonus, was that our maternity nurse was Carol Anderson - wife of one of our former pastors: Greg Anderson.

My mom - the original Leela is helping out in a big way - an extra pair of arms to carry the baby around, more meals get made and we all feel a little better having a pro around - after all she raised 3 kids, including me, which already puts her in a whole new sphere of sainthood.

Sophia is doing great - although she tends to snooze off while feeding from her mom.

Felicia is going through the usual aches and pains that most moms do, as their bodies re-adjust to the massive physiological change that has just taken place. I can't get over how radiant and glowing her face looks, though. She looks so fresh and happy.

Adam hasn't been too thrilled w. the new arrival! He had been wondering when the baby was going to go back into Mama's tummy! Although, today he has started to warm up, and even asked to carry her. I was reflecting on this - having a new child is traumatic for adults who normally have fully developed emotional and mental faculties - how much more difficult must it be for a toddler, who simply cannot comprehend what is happening to "his" family.

I sat down and tried to explain everything to Adam, and quickly realized, I might as well be explaining the Kalaam cosmological argument for God which was first postulated by Islamic apologists in the 16th Century.

Yesterday, while Sophia was drinking from Felicia, we explained to Adam that Sophia was eating and drinking. Adam looked at her and said, "Sophia is eating, drinking and thinking", which is true.

Adam has been excited that Sophia brought him some presents - more Little Bear DVD's.

Anyways, it is exciting, thrilling and scary to welcome this beautiful little girl into our family.

Wow Santosh, congratulations from these 3 Fruhlings to you 4! You know, I was just saying to Andrea yesterday "Well they're having a girl, he can't work in a U2 name this time", and then there is Grace sneakily sitting right in there, hiding under the spiritual angle but calling out to the fans...

However, Andrea thought The Edge was actually a cool name for a little female.

Congratulations, Santy, congratulations. I still need to see Adam, it's been that long. One of these days we'll reunite though and I'll treat you to a piece of pie in Mobile 76 fashion. Over a biteful, we'll toast the past and future. Later, buddy.

Congrats,

The only thing better than a child is two of them. God has blessed you doubly.

in follow up to nicks suggestion, you could have also called her Miss Sarajevo (or Sara for short - this was the name I was liking if we had another girl). Or Party Girl.... or for the hippy feel... "Summer Rain"
