Tri-City Mayors' Prayer Breakfast

Much less stressful, than the first time!

This past year, I have had the privilege of leading the Tri-City Ministerial. This is an organization that represents all the churches in the cities of Port Moody, Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam. We meet once a month for lunch to chat about ongoing ministry events and pray together. It is really a great bunch of men and women.

The biggest event that we do all year is the Tri-City Mayors' Prayer Breakfast - this is an event where we honor our elected officials at the local, provincial and federal levels. As the head of the ministerial, I did quite a bit of work - its not really hard work, just a LOT of work.

We had it this morning at a local golf and country club. And, in my humble, unbiased event - it was a smashing success!!! Things just went really really well today. The venue was beautiful - the food was great. We had a guest speaker, Dr. Dave Currie, whom I have known for over 25 years. He was unbelievable, speaking on integrity.

Another change we had was the presentation of an award to a local group or individual who has shown great service to the tri-cities. This year we gave it to the 5 fire fighters and the fire chief of Port Moody. You see, when you run things, you get to do cool things like that!

It was awesome to be able to present the award and re-tell the story to everyone gathered there.

I heard nothing but positive feed-back so far. There are a few tweaks we can make to make the event even better next year, but overall I was very very happy with how things went.

Now - I have a couple of days off to recover!!!
